Accommodation
in Majorca is plentiful and varied. This
ranges from small apartments overlooking a coastal town, to large hotel
complexes with vast amenities that cater for the 4 and 5 star guests. As you sit and sip your morning coffee in the
landscaped gardens in one of these hotels you may find the resident peacocks
come to check for stray crumbs near your table in the sun!
Entertainment on the island of Majorca (or Mallorca if you prefer), is
also plentiful and varies. The coastal
ferry boats mentioned earlier are numerous, as are beach based water sports. These can include scuba diving, snorkelling,
or a more relaxed ‘pedalo’ for two. For something far removed from the water, hot air balloon rides are also
available, weather permitting of course.
Golf is also popular with both residents and visitors, and one complex
called ‘Golf Fantasia’ provides three 18-hole courses set in tropical
gardens. You can spot a ‘birdy’ as well
as make one on your way round! Prices
for such places are often cheaper from your local rep than waiting to pay at
the entrance.
Probably the number one attraction for tourists on the island is the
infamous ‘Pirates’ show. This is a family
show near Magaluf that includes high speed entertainment as you eat your dinner
served alongside the action. Top quality
acrobats and gymnasts make up most of the cast, with comedy and dance routines
set alongside the many action sequences.
