Platja de
Sant Elm / Es Geparut
This
white sandy beach is the largest in the Andratx area, about 125 metres long and
30 metres wide, about 8 km from Andratx, on the south west coast of the Island
and is also known as Geparut. It is
sheltered by the islet des Pantaleu. It
is very popular with tourists and local people and some of the facilities
include wheelchair access, lifeguards, open air bar, restaurants, and
opportunities to hire sun beds, parasols and pedal boats. It is excellent for children with its flat
beach, shallow clear water which is ideal for snorkelling, a playground and
yachts regularly anchor here. The beach is easily accessible, has been awarded
a blue flag, there is good parking nearby and wonderful scenery with pine and
palm trees.
