Arenal de
sa Canova
This
beach of golden, fine-grained sand is between Punta de sa Barraca (Arta) and Torrent
de na Borges (Santa Margalida) in a protected area about 13 km from Can
Picafort. It is 2 km long and 100 m
wide, and behind it you will find a pine wood and dunes which run parallel to
the beach. These dunes run as far as 2
km inland and the beach is popular with wind surfers with the steady and strong
Tramuntana wind that blows from north to south. The beach is not easy to reach by car, you will need to look out for
signs as you drive along the forest road which will lead to a parking area,
which is free, and then it is about a five minute walk from there. It tends to
be quiet because of its location, even in summer, and nudism is allowed.
