Cala
Torta / S'Aduaia
This is a
large fine sandy beach about 10 km north of Arta and surrounded by low
mountains and is 150 metres long and 200 metres wide. Access to it is along a gravel road in poor
condition but it is well worth the journey. It is not suitable for small children as it is quite deep and you need
to be aware of the weather as it is exposed when the wind is blowing from the
north and north east. The water is
crystal clear and turquoise in colour and is good for snorkelling along the
cliffs. It can be crowded with tourists,
as well as the locals, and nudism is permitted. There is a beach bar and small cafe on the beach, but there is no resort
nearby. There was a pine forest which
covered the whole area but due to forest fires there is now only a small part
left.
