Banyalbufar’s beaches
Banyalbufar
is situated to the south east of the mountain range, Tramuntana, and many
centuries ago it was known as the vineyard by the sea. It is between Pollensa and Andratx, about
forty minutes drive from the international airport, a small and quiet village
which is well known for its terraced hillside, with about 500 inhabitants, on
the Island’s west coast and has great views of the Mediterranean Sea and the
mountains. It is popular with artists
who sit and gaze out to sea and watch the sun sets. It is in a peaceful
position with a few hotels and restaurants in the area, and is a great starting
point for those wishing to walk or hike around the coastal paths. The coastline is rocky with some wonderful
places for those people who like angling in the sea, in the great little coves
and beaches. It is wise to take plenty
of water and a picnic when visiting the area.
