Calvia’s beaches
Calvia is
located in the south west part of the Island of Mallorca and is close to Palma,
the capital of the Island. It is
encompassed with the Sierra de Tramuntana mountains and is just a few
kilometres from the Santa Ponca inlet. The coast consists of cliffs and there are beautiful views of the
sparkling blue waters of the sea, which are very tempting for a refreshing
dip. This area has a variety of types of
accommodation, with some of the exclusive ones located in the area of Illetas
and its coves. There are a variety of
different water sports available on the large beaches at Santa Ponca, Magaluf
and Palmnova, with the peaceful area of Peguera and its beautiful groves of
pine trees. It is possible to hire a
boat to enable you to see the area from the seaward side, or to hike up the
cliffs.
