Platja Monte de Oro

This beach is located between Punta des Castellot and sa Punta des Gats, about 8 kilometres from Calvia, on the south west coast of the island of Mallorca.  It mainly consists of natural gravel, does not have much sand and is about 15 metres long and 4 metres wide.  It is bordered by some medium high cliffs and some of the tourist accommodation can be seen from the beach.  This small sea inlet can be exposed to the wind from the south west and west and there is little room for anchoring boats.  There is a bus stop nearby or you can follow the signs for Santa Ponca, and then calle Palmeres where there is a free parking area.  It is mostly used by the local people from the area, not often crowded and is next to Cala Blanca or Costa de la Calma as it is locally known.
