Es Freu de ses Covetes
This beach, whose name translated into “the strait of the little caves” is located about 11 kilometres from Campos on the south coast of the Island. It is a peaceful beach situated between es Trenc and sa Ràpita, is about 50 metres long and 12 metres wide, in a small pretty rocky area. There used to be some natural caves in a nearby rocky area which was used as a quarry. It is a small u-shaped inlet which is not too crowded, mostly used by the local people of the area, with a bus stop within one hundred metres of the beach and there is free parking adjacent to the beach. It has a gentle slope down into the water and the swimming conditions are usually calm. There was a contentious village construction started but was stopped because the area belongs to the Àrea Natural Protegida.
