Deia’s beaches
Deia is a small village which is situated on the rugged north west coast of
the Island of Mallorca between Valldemossa, about 10 miles away, and Soller. It is considered to be a cultural centre as
you will find more art galleries and museums that you will find discos and
bars. The village has the Serra de
Tramuntana in its background and an ancient church which is situated on a hill. As you go down a dusty track through the
olive groves you will come to the attractive cala de deia where the local
fishermen still go out very early in the morning to cast their nets. There are steep cliffs which overlook the
blue Mediterranean sea. You will find restaurants where you will find plenty of
fresh fish on the menu. There is a
pleasant walk to it, but if travelling by car it can be a long way round.
