Felanitx’s beaches

Felanitx is well known for being one of the best-kept towns and is about one hour’s drive from the capitals’ airport at Palma, near to Porto Colom, in the south east corner of the Island of Mallorca. It is in the centre of the Island’s second wine producing area, and is also known for cultivating green capers and manufacturing blue tiles.  There is a good Sunday market where you can buy watches, sun glasses, handbags and other traditional items.  It is about 15 kilometres from the coast and you will find the Castel De Santueri and the monastery of Son Salvador on the wooden hilltops outside the town.  There are 15 kilometres of coastline with several beaches which are another of the main tourists’ attractions in this part of the Island.  From Felanitx it is about 20 minutes by car to get to other  resorts such as Porto Colom and Cala d’Or.
