Cala Mitjana
This unspoilt
and isolated beach is located about 2 kilometres from Cala d’Or on the Island
of Mallorca, near to Cala Torta. It is
about 100 metres long and 88 metres wide and consists of natural fine white sand. The water is calm and crystal clear making it
a good place for mooring boats and underwater fishing, and there are some nice
dunes behind the beach. If you follow a
track to the left at Cala Torta you can walk for about fifteen minutes to reach
this beach, or alternatively you can arrive by car through the a small mountain
range with some bumpy roads, and it is well worth the effort. It is not normally busy and is often visited
by tourists. There is a small open air
bar and it is surrounded by pine trees, there were forest fires some years ago
which has destroyed some, and some luxurious buildings.
