Cala d'en Marcal / Calo d'en Marcal
This fine
sand beach is the main beach for Porto Colom and is about 1 kilometre from it
on the Island of Mallorca and is popular with English visitors who are looking
for a relaxing vacation. It is about 150
metres long and 120 metres wide and consists of natural sand. There is some natural shade from the pine
trees at the rear of the beach. The
beach’s facilities include a beach bar, some restaurants towards the side of
it, the possibility of hiring a sun bed, parasol and pedal boat, but there is
no life guard on duty. It can become
busy during the peak tourists months with visitors. There is a gently slope down towards the edge
of the clean and clear water which makes it suitable for children, as well as a
small playground. The conditions for
snorkelling are very good along the cliffs with many pretty fish to see.
