Badia Blava
This
beach is located about 15 kilometres from Llucmajor, on the southern coast of
the Island of Mallorca, where you will find an isolated beach of about 50
metres in length and 6 metres in width. It consists of natural sand and rocks which can become moderated busy
during the peak months in the summer, especially the local people from the
villages of Badia Gran and Badia Blava. It can be difficult to anchor a boat here because of its unsheltered
position and the sea currents, although divers are often found here because of
the sand, rocks and underwater vegetation. This part of the coast has breathtaking cliffs with steep decents down
to the Mediterranean Sea. There are
tracks, called Pas des Vero and Pujador des Frares (meaning “the slope of the
monks”) which have been tarmaced in order for you to reach this bathing
area. Many centuries ago these were used
by pirates, smugglers and fishermen.
