Cala Murta
This
beach is located on the peninsular of Formentor about 15 kilometres from Puerto
Pollensa on the north coast of the Island of Mallorca. It is an unspoilt beach and about 85 metres
long and 25 metres wide and consists of shingle and fine white sand, with a
sandy sea bed. It is shaped as a
s-shaped inlet with a torrent which flows into the sea. There are cliffs on either sides with holm
oaks on the right and a pine wood on the left. There are excellent conditions for anchoring boats as the sea inlet is sheltered
from the north wind. It is mostly
visited by tourists and is not usually crowded. To access the beach you will need to walk the last 1,700 metres on a
path through a pine grove. There are no
facilities on the beach so you need to ensure that you take plenty of water.
