El Calo
This
beach is between Punta de l’Avancada and la Roja about 4 kilometres from Puerto
Pollensa on the north coast of the Island of Mallorca. It is an unspoilt beach which is surrounded
by scrubland and limestone and is about 63 metres long and 20 metres wide and
consists of shingle and large pebbles and there is a torrent which flows into
the sea here. It is not suitable for
anchoring boats because of the underwater conditions, however it is a perfect
place for snorkellingin the crystal clear waters. It is situated next to a naval area which
means you need to park the car about 4 kilometres away, from which you will
need to walk to the beach. It is not generally
crowded and is mostly used by the local people of the area. There are no facilities on the beach so you
must ensure that you take plenty of water with you.
