Santa Margalida’s beaches
Santa
Margalida is a small municipality about 45 kilometres from the capital, Palma, on
the north east coast of the Island of Mallorca, near to the Bay of Alcudia. It is 10 kilometres inland, with 9 kilometres
of coastline nearby, and is the main populated area, the other two being the
tourist resorts of Son Serra de Marina and Can Picafort. The town is small and has kept its old-world
charm and gives a enchanting glimpse into a part of Mallorca visitors may not
have seen before, and is mainly used by the local farming community. There are tapas bars, shops, banks, butchers
and a supermarket. About a ten minute
car drive will take you to Son Serra de Marina where you will find some good
sea food restaurants. Can Picafort is
another one of the great beaches in the area, which is busier, and has a great
beach which stretches all the way to Alcudia.
