S'Arenal d'es Casat / S'Arenal d'en Casat / Ses Assussenes

This beach is between Punta des patro and Punta Llarga de Son Real about 2 kilometres from Can Picafort on the north east coast of the Island of Mallorca.  It is about 50 metres long and 20 metres wide, with a gentle slope down into the sea, and consists of natural sand, and is surrounded by dunes and the large pine forest of Son Real. It is suitable for anchoring a boat, but it is difficult to get to by car, although you can walk from Son Baulo or along a track which begins from the road between Arta and Alcudia.  This is the reason why this beach is not often visited by tourists.  It gets its name, Ses Assussenes (iris in English) as this flower is in the surrounding area.  There are not facilities so you need to ensure you take plenty of water.
