Cala Gran / Calo Gran
This
beach is located about15 kilometres from Porto Colom on the south east coast of
the Island of Mallorca, and is the largest and most popular of the beaches in
the Cala d’Or area, making it very popular with tourists during the busy summer
months. It is about 40 metres long and
100 metres wide, consists of natural fine grained sand and is situated in a
cove which is protected by cliffs and pine trees. The water slopes gently into the sea and to
the rear of the beach there is a children’s play area. The beach’s facilities include showers,
toilets, bars, restaurants and the opportunity to hire sun beds, parasols and
pedal boats. The main tourist area of
Cala d’Or is a little further north of the beach where you will find many
British and German restaurants and bars, and two small but lovely beaches.
