Cala d'Or
This
beach is located in a residential area of this bustling resort about 15
kilometres from Porto Colom on the south east coast of the Island of
Mallorca. Its name means the golden bay
and there are five beaches, Cala d’Or, Cala Gran (the largest), Cala Esmeralda,
Cala Ferrera and Cala Serena. Cala d’Or
is about 40 metres long and 100 metres wide and consists of natural, fine sand and
the water is turquoise and crystal clear. It is very popular with tourists so it can become crowded during the
peak summer months, with limited space for children to play. The facilities include beach bars, toilets,
shower, restaurants and a supermarket nearby, and the opportunity to hire sun
beds, parasols and pedal boats. Along
the cliffs you will find some very good snorkelling with plenty of colourful
pretty fish.
