Calo des Moro

This beach is about 6 kilometres from Santanyi on the south east coast of the Island of Mallorca.  It is surrounded by high cliffs and pine trees, which can make access to it difficult, and the water is crystal clear, with a sandy seabed and beautiful coloured waters which make it an excellent place for diving and snorkelling. It is about 30 metres long and 20 metres wide and consists of natural sand.  However, there may not be a lot of room for sun bathing, as some of it is covered with rocks which have fallen from the cliffs due to erosion, and although there is a gentle slope into the fairly shallow water it is not a child friendly beach because of its size and it can become crowded.  To get there follow the directions for S’Almunia and Es Maquer and take a small path that starts just before the end of the road.  This goes north along the cliffs, take care as the last part is quite steep.
