Soller’s beaches
Soller is
situated three kilometres from its port on the north west coast of the Island
of Mallorca, about half an hour from the capital, Palma. There is a great train
journey on a vintage train to Palma with some great views on the way. It is an attractive place in a bowl-shaped
valley, which is large and fertile and well known for its olive trees and
orange groves. It is surrounded by the
Serra de Tramuntana mountain range. In
the town you will find a lovely square with plenty of cafes and bars serving
tapas. There is a tram which will take
you the five kilometres to the natural harbour, Port de Soller, where you will
find a lovely beach, shops and restaurants and is very popular with
tourists. The lighthouse, El Far del Cap
Gros, is at the entrance to the bay and there are boat trips that you can take.
