Cala Mayor has an average sized sandy beach of its own. Larger beaches are found at Palma Nova and Magaluf farther round the coast.
Daytime: varied beach activities; the old house and studio of Joan Miro, the sculptor and painter, including a large art collection. Many more sights and attractions in nearby Palma.
Nightlife: low-key.
A limited number of shops. Porto Pi is a large shopping centre also containing cafes and bars.
