Camp de Mar
A deep, sheltered bay with a south-facing beach and an islet, reached by a rickety causeway, which is the site of a restaurant. A square watch-tower behind the beach and another on the headland are reminders of the days when this coast was terrorised by pirates. Now it's the day trippers who disturb the peace, on high days and holidays, at least. The seafront promenade is dominated by a giant concrete sundial. Two good-sized free car parks on the edge of the resort make up for the limited parking available in the centre
This small resort holds wide appeal for its beach, attractive situation and ease of access to nearby towns such as Paguera and Puerto de Andraitx, both 3 mls. The low-key nightlife, mainly centred on the hotels, makes it particularly suited to couples and young families.
