Pollensa
Cosmopolitan and elegant, the old town of Pollensa is the choice of those who enjoy a mix of history, authentic village life and sophistication; it has long been the haunt of artists and boasts many art galleries with regular exhibitions. Climbing the 365 stairs of Calvario will reward you with breathtaking views of the surrounding country, down to the bay. There are museums to visit and a Roman bridge. A 9-hole golf course, open to non-members, has splendid views to the sea. Car hire is advised.
Location: Near the NE tip of the island near Cape Formentor (16 mls). 3¾ mls SW of Puerto de Pollensa. 38 mls NE of Palma and the airport.
