Hotel Atolon

Quite plain and simple establishment with nothing particularly notable apart from its immediate seafront location. There are only rocks along the rear of the property, making access to the water difficult. A few patches of shingle are nearby but a small beach is a five-minute walk along the adjacent promenade. It is also within walking distance of the larger, Cala Millor beach and the pretty harbour of Cala Bona, where there are many restaurants. It should suit mainly mature couples looking for a smaller and more personal option with good resort convenience. There is an underground tunnel between the two buildings, not that there's any danger of much traffic passing by.

Interior

Minimal and ordinary open-plan central interior with a lounge, reception and long indoor bar. A separate buffet restaurant area looks out to sea.

Grounds

At the rocky shoreline is a tiled pool terrace with thatched parasols and ample sunbeds all around. A snack bar is at the side of the building with bamboo and plastic seating. There is a little extra space for sunbeds on the shingle seafront sections just below the grounds.

Location

Area Type: In an area of small tourist shops, cafes and bars, on the coastal promenade at the edge of the resort. A bus stops 100 yds away for both local resorts and further afield on the island. A mini-train also stops on the adjacent street. A 10-minute walk into the centre of Cala Bona with its wide selection of bars, shops and restaurants around the harbour.
