Cala Mayor
Cala Mayor is located just a few miles west of Palma and was the first resort built in this area. Back in the 1980s it was known as a boom town/resort and had lots of guests visiting it. There were then some of the liveliest bars and clubs on the coast.
Today, the resort has changed, nowadays it more a residential area with a nice long beach with palm trees. There is still a good selection of hotels and bars in the resort and it a good choice if you are looking for a peaceful and relaxing holiday.
Opposite the Palacio de Marivent, the road to Genova runs past the Fundacio Pilar I Joan Miro, where the painter lived and worked. The gallery stores a comprehensive collection of his documents and occasionally hosts exhibitions.
