Cala Ratjada
Cala Ratjada is a fairly quiet resort in the north of Majorca, the resort is around 65 km from the airport and takes around an hour and 15 minutes to get to resort, depending on your mode of transport. The old part of Cala Ratjada is based by a small fishing harbour and the name translates to "Rays of Bays". The resort has a good selection of beaches, such as the Cala Gat and the Son Moll. Between these 2 beaches you will see the promenade which is ideal for long walks during the evening. There are also a few cafes, restaurants, shopping outlets and bars to choose from.
Above the Cala Gat bay stands Palau Joan March, a stately home, named after its owner, a rich tobacco merchant, banker and patron of the arts. Unfortunately, both this palace and its lovely gardens are now closed to the public.
