Riu Club Tropicana

A secluded, collection of traditional-style accommodation blocks spread over a large site with direct access to a small cove and sandy beach to the rear. Located well outside the main resort in the area of Cala Domingos. There are lots of activities and entertainment for all ages available both during the day and in the evenings. Tranquil and attractive setting for the pool terrace for those who don't prefer the beach. The size and the sloping terrain of the grounds could pose a challenge for those with mobility problems, even though a minibus operates around the property. Nothing else in the area, so for those who don't intend to remain at the property all the time-a car would definately be advised to better explore the island.

Tiled-roof, single-storey blocks with verandahs and individual access steps. The main building is an old converted mill with pointed roof sections.

Interior

The minimal interior has a smart and attractive main buffet restaurant just off the beach and a separate, large bar and entertainment area with functional seating. Outside is a tiled seating terrace with plastic chairs and tables and views over the beach.

Grounds

Just before the entrance building is reached, to one side of the driveway, is a raised, tiled pool terrace near the accommodation and surrounded by palm trees. There are an average amount of sunbeds on offer under canopy shades. A snack bar is to one side of the pool on a higher level. Sports courts are on the other side of the driveway, also before the entrance building.

Location

Area Type: Down a rough-surfaced, side street, well outside the resort centre (5-minute drive), in semi-rural surrounds overlooking the small bay of Cala Domingos. No amenities in the area and the nearest are in the centre of the resort. At the end of a long private, tree-lined drive.
