A well-presented, comfortable option with some style and flair, which offers a good range of facilities and well-thought out, attractive grounds. Other facilities include a beauty salon and separately run dive centre.


The lack of an immediate beach may deter some, but there are numerous safe and easy sea-access points via steps along the coastline. There are other sandy beaches in the resort but the nearest large beach is in neighbouring Cala Mayor.

Suits a wide range of clientele and attracts the conference and meetings crowd. Families are better catered for in July and August when there is entertainment on offer for children. Guests can use the tennis and mini-golf facilities at the sister hotel opposite, Riu Bonanza Park.

Exterior

The 2-storeys visible from the street have a pleasing, traditional look with terracotta walls and low tiled roofs. The other side of the 9-storey building is a rather mundane concrete block with balconies on all rooms and with sea views.

Interior

An unusual central interior which has an 8th-floor lobby, vaguely styled on a traditional Majorcan manor house, with a sloping, beamed ceiling, older-style furniture and stained glass windows.

A lobby bar with red chairs overlooks the ocean through large picture windows. The spacious seventh-floor buffet restaurant enjoys sea views. On the ground floor is a 'quiet' lounge and a not-so-quiet evening entertainment bar which is adjacent to a red-walled cocktail bar.

Grounds

Delightful, well-kept gardens offer lawns, leafy trees, terracotta urns and wrought iron benches. The wood-decked pool surround overlooks the sea and steps lead down to a platform and water sports centre. An attractive bar/restaurant offers a shady patio. Plenty of loungers and blue tinsel sunshades are provided. A fitness room is just below the pool level.

Area Type: On the narrow, winding coast road running through the resort, on a slight hill and tiered down a hillside to a rocky shoreline. Surrounded by tourist properties, residential apartment buildings and a few bars shops and eateries spread further along the street. A taxi rank is right outside as well as a bus stop to the capital Palma.
