Aparthotel Playa Mar

Lively well-facilitated apartment establishment, a long way outside the town centre but could be walked in around 20 minutes along the beach promenade. There are no amenities in the immediate vicinity and the beaches nearby are small sand and shingle sections which get bigger nearer the centre. It is almost exclusive to a major UK tour operator who provides extensive entertainment and children's activities. It will appeal mainly to families wanting a self-contained option that is lots of fun for the children and who are not so bothered about being in the centre of town and happy to remain onsite most of the time.

Interior

The main interior facilities are housed in a building next to the reception with a buffet restaurant with a high ceiling and wood beams. A large bar has indoor wicker seating and more exterior seating on the terrace outside. There is also an indoor entertainments stage used in bad weather.

Grounds

The grounds are spacious with plenty of lounging space on a green concrete area surrounding a large split-level pool with bridge. A thatched snack bar on a raised terrace overlooks the pool and a large entertainments stage. A children's club building with a playground is adjacent. Multi-sports courts are to the rear of the grounds. Ponds and a trellis walkway lead from the entrance building to the pool.

Area Type: At the edge of the resort's development, on the tree-lined road leading out of the resort to Formentor. The nearest amenities are found in the centre, a 20-minute walk away. Buses can be taken from the marina in the centre to Alcudia and other island towns.
